The Board of Trustees, on 27 February, approved new DRAFT Admissions & Placement policies for both elementary and secondary schools for the purpose of public consultation.

These draft policies can be viewed by clicking on the links on our website:

Our school communities and partners are invited to provide input into that draft policy before it comes back to the board of trustees to finalize.

WHEN:  Thursday, 1 May, 7pm to 9pm

WHERE:  TCDSB, 80 Sheppard Avenue East (Sheppard subway / parking on-site)

FORMAT:  Consultation in the Round

Consultation in the Round makes the best use of time by participants. It uses separate tables with each featuring a key regulation for which input is being sought. Everyone will receive  background details and pros and cons of the regulation. A facilitator is responsible for presenting the regulation and key open-ended question for consideration, and records the feedback provided at each table. Participants will also have the opportunity to submit more detailed written suggestions to add to comments recorded by the Facilitator.

Those in TCDSB Ward 9 are also very welcome to write me directly at or call me at 416-512-3409. The policy is expected to come back to the Board of Trustees in June – please be sure to provide me with your feedback by the end of May.

I have written the Ward 9 CPIC representative and CSAC Chairs directly asking them to engage their parent communities.   In addition a notice is being provided to all pastors in order that our parish communities are made aware and may participate.
